A mere 100 yards from both apartments, Seahouses Harbour is an attraction in itself. Still a bustling operation, the harbour offers a insight into a working fishing village. Boat trips over to the Farne Islands are available from the harbour. These trips, which run a few times a day in peak season give visitors the chance to view these geographical wonders close up. Across the road from The Viking apartment, guests get free use of the Ocean Club leisure complex. Take time to relax in the pool or spa, or choose a workout in the state of the art gym.

 

For those who wish to take exercise outdoors while enjoying the views, we offer a bike hire service from Seafield Park, we have child chairs and buggy's too - ensuring the children won't miss out.

 

The Northumbrian coastal route hosts a variety of sites worth visiting. To the north Bamburgh Castle, the former seat of the Northumbrian Kings provides not only a fantastic visual spectacle but also the chance to explore some of the castle's magnificent rooms.

 

To the south sits Dunstanburgh Castle, a massive ruined castle that dominates the coast line. A short walk from the tranquil village of Craster, the castle is one of Northumberland's gems.

 

A little further inland, - a half hour bus journey or 20 minute car journey - sit's the market town of Alnwick.Home to the Duke of Northumberland and Britain's second largest inhabited castle, Alnwick is a bustling country town. As well as lot's of history, Alnwick also some more modern attractions, such as the Alnwick Garden, a £20 million project initiated by the Duchess of Northumberland.

 

With gardens for all seasons, a grand pavilion and huge water cascade the garden makes for a great all day visit. Those looking for somewhere to dine could also look to the Treehouse restaurant - situated at the garden in Europe's largest tree house.

 

For lovers of the outdoors and those feeling adventurous, the Cheviot Hills provide an ideal location. With a wide range of walks for all abilities, the Cheviots offer some truly amazing vistas on a clear day.

 

Of course, those looking for something a little more cosmopolitan can always take the hour's journey to either Newcastle or Edinburgh - ideal for a day, or night out. Newcastle's rapid re-development includes places such as the magnificent Sage and the Baltic Flour Mill.
